Volunteers
County Clothes-Line Foundation has volunteers operating in many capacities. It would not be possible to accomplish everything without these valued participants!
Volunteers can take part in a variety of ways: board members, store operations, helpers that wash clothing and other items - anyone wishing to offer their time can visit the store for more information.
Volunteer Board Member Position
This volunteer position involves you in:
- Ten monthly Board meetings - meetings are not held in July and August. Board activities include:
- setting goals, policy and procedure for the County Clothes-Line Foundation and store;
- administration of Community Funding, a program providing non-profit Strathcona County based groups and individuals with seed money and project funds;
- administration of other projects.
- Committee meetings as needed (average one per month), usually held prior to the regular meeting, to work towards the goals and objectives set by the Foundation.
- Public awareness opportunities (approximately three per year) to increase public awareness of the County Clothes-Line Foundation, the Clothes-Line store,the Community Funding project, and to liase with the community at large.
- The proposed term of office is three years, running from September to June, with the option for a fourth year.
- Elections take place at the June Board meeting.
- The Annual General Meeting of the County Clothes-Line Foundation is held in May.
- Regular meetings are on the third Wednesday of each month from seven p.m. to nine p.m. approximately, and are held at the Clothes-Line Store, 38 Sioux Road, Sherwood Park, telephone: 464-7786.
